【Bishova】The First Taste（3）

Five days later, she runs into Yelena, again. In her defense, she thinks Yelena is stalking her intentionally! One of Kate’s werewolf friends, Franny, told Kate that a friend of her told her that his cousin bragged about him and his friend went to a very cool bar, it was full of“Werewolves, witches, fairies and vampires!”. Werewolves, witches, fairies, and vampires, all of them have their own separate and exclusive societies, and fairies hate vampires, vampires despise werewolves, witches and vampires are enemies, werewolves reject everybody else besides wolves. Kate has no idea how supernatural creatures could stay in one place and not fight, so naturally, Kate is going to investigate.

It turns out to be a werewolf bar. It’s a Saturday night, the party starts early, and Kate blends in with an unfamiliar pack of wolves when she spots a vampire.

To her surprise, that vampire with purple streaks on her hair goes straight to the stage. She stylishly asks for attention and delivers a heartwarming speech.

Kate is in the back of the crowd, raising her eyebrow so hard as she listens to the vampire. Werewolves… working with vampires???

What happens next horrifies Kate even more.

The vampire bites her own wrist, letting the blood drips into the rows of cups held by the werewolves downstage, and then distributes cups of blood to all werewolves.

Werewolves drink vampire blood and start howling. Then, they start shifting.

Kate feels the wild energy pulsing in the air. Her own eyes go wild too. She has never felt such an uncontrollable desire to shift.

She was yanked out of the bar by a pair of hands on her waist next.

The force is so strong that she’s dragged out of the bar and taken away by it.

They do not stop until she could no longer feel the inescapable desire to shift, that’s when she smells the familiar scent. The next thing she knows, she’s held down against a brick wall by Yelena (what’s wrong with Yelena and her need to pin Kate down on a rough object’s surface anyway??).

“I told you to stay out of this, Kate Bishop,” Yelena says grumpily. “I see you’re in my way, again.”

Kate’s eyes are still wild.

“I-you-” Kate yells in frustration. “That’s a werewolf bar!!! I have every right to be there! But you, WHY ARE YOU THERE!”

She fights against Yelena fiercely, and that’s for the first time she feels Yelena’s pheromones. It’s… very clamming? She can’t help but relax, clamming her breath with them. Those gold eyes slowly return to their original blue.

“What the HELL just happened???”

“If I hadn’t dragged you out, you would have died there,” she says, frowning as she looks into Kate’s eyes, which have just returned to their normal color, and gently put Kate down. “there’s a bunch of V-crazed werewolves out there. They’ll tear you to pieces if they find out you don’t belong in the pack.”

“I’m Hawkeye! I can defend myself – what the fuck is V?”

“Hawkeye?” Yelena relaxes into an amused smile. “You’re a werewolf, not a were-bird.”

“It’s just a name…” Kate whines. “You haven’t answered my question! What the FUCK is going on in that bar and what’s V?”

Yelena’s face is set in a grim expression. “You don’t know much about the supernatural drug culture, do you, Kate Bishop?”

Kate shakes her head.

“V means vampire blood. Mortals- including werewolves – get stronger but crazier, when they drink vampire blood, and it’s addicted. Basically it is like a supernatural stimulant. That vampire in the bar, Valentina, is supplying those werewolves.”

Kate makes a disgusted face. “That’s disgusting. So those werewolves work for her just for her blood?”

 “Correct.”

“Is there any particular reason why you are both interested in a death-controlling coven and a pack of doped werewolves?”

The mysterious vampire just stares at the werewolf. After a few seconds, the vampire lets go of Kate completely. “No, Kate, stay away from them. You’ll get yourself killed.”

Without an explanation, she turns her back on Kate and leaves.

Kate gapes at Yelena’s back. How could she keep messing with Kate’s missions without a word of explanation?

“Hey! You owe me an explanation!” Kate runs after her, grabbing the vampire by the shoulder.

As if anticipating her stubbornness, Yelena easily shakes Kate off. Kate refuses to quit, and the next thing she knows, Yelena grabs her wrist and she is on the ground.

Kate stands up, facing Yelena then slaps her.

The Vampire was more surprised than hurt. She looks SO offended. “What is this?”

Kate stares blankly at Yelena. She’s just trying to get Yelena’s attention! She doesn’t know what to do next! “I don’t know,” She responded weakly, panicking.

Yelena rolls her eyes. She stomps around the werewolf and continues her way.

“Hey, get back here-” Kate shifts into her wolf form, chasing after the vampire and tackling her to the ground.

Yelena huffs, kicking the giant wolf out of her way. but Kate keeps engaging. For a moment, Yelena literally mobs the floor with the wolf’s face until Kate rolls over to get away from her and dashes the vampire to the ground.

“What are we doin’,” she gasps, “I mean, it’s a full-moon night, let’s have a drink, huh? Can’t a couple of girls take a little break from fighting to catch up?”

Under the werewolf, Yelena raises a perfect eyebrow. She is amused by the expectant look on the werewolf’s face. Kate seemed genuinely happy to buy her a drink and genuinely thinks she would say yes.

“You’re a werewolf and I’m a vampire, so, no, we’re not two girls who can have a drink and a girl talk.”

Kate looks like Yelena kicked her dog (or kicked her because Kate is basically an oversized puppy). She’s so disappointed that Yelena almost feels sorry for her.

“Kate,” Yelena looks at her pointedly, “You are still very naked, and you are on me.”

“Oh, sorry,” Kate says unapologetically, standing up, and offering a hand.

Yelena accepts. She studies the werewolf carefully, who is still very naked and chest-heaving from the fight.

“You know what,” says Yelena, still openly checking Kate, “maybe I’ll have a drink with you.”

“You do?” Kate doesn’t miss those glances, but her eyes literally lit up for her agreement.

“Okay. Yeah, sure, after you stay away from the coven and those wolves.”

Kate’s face immediately falls. “No! No, come on, that’s not what -”

But the vampire has vanished without a trace.

Kate stares into the thin air, again, trying to understand her cryptic behavior. She doesn’t remember to look for her clothes until she hears a distant horn.

Before falling to sleep that night, Kate thinks a lot. She keeps meeting Yelena, right? But vampires generally don’t stick around in one place for too long (for obvious reasons). But given a vampire’s eternal life, “not too long” can also mean (for them) a long time. However, this is not enough to explain why Yelena repeatedly meddles in mortal affairs. Vampires are usually very exclusive, and narcissistic, an altruistic vampire, it’s a little bit odd (though Kate thinks what happened at the werewolf bar may have broken the racial balance in vampire society, but it still could’ve been an isolated incident). But why does every time, Yelena has to mess with Kate’s plans, every time (although Yelena claims that it’s Kate in her way, not the way around. Hello she’s just a neighbor-friendly werewolf)? And those“Dates”? Of all the bars in town, Yelena HAS to go on a “Date” every time at the bar where Kate works? Every time when Kate’s there (the bar owner said she never showed up when Kate isn’t working)? All that innuendo flirting? Kate just cannot understand this mysterious vampire, and she’s both frustrated and fascinated by her.

Kate rolls over and lets out a frustrated scream into the pillow. Why can’t she talk to me??? Why’d she have to be so complicated???

【Bishova】初尝滋味（3）

五天后，她又一次撞上了叶琳娜。容她自我辩护一下，她认为是叶琳娜故意跟踪她！凯特的一个狼人朋友，弗兰妮，她告诉凯特，她的一个男性朋友跟她说，他的一个表哥认识一个人，那个人吹嘘他的朋友带他去过一家很酷的酒吧，里面全是“狼人，女巫，精灵和吸血鬼”。狼人，女巫，精灵和吸血鬼有着各自独立、排外的社会，而精灵厌恶吸血鬼，吸血鬼看不起狼人，女巫和吸血鬼势不两立，狼人排斥所有除了狼群之外的生物，她不知道怎么会有这些超自然生物能待在一个地方而不打起来，所以自然，凯特准备去调查一番。

事实证明，那其实是一个狼人酒吧。那是一个周六晚上，派对早早开始了，凯特混在不熟悉的狼群中，看到了一个吸血鬼。

令人惊讶的是，那个头上有着紫色挑染的吸血鬼成了派对的中心，她走上舞台，优雅地让狼人们安静下来，然后发表了一段振奋人心的讲话。

凯特在人群后面听得眉毛都飞到发际线上了。狼人……和吸血鬼合作？？？

接下来的事情更是让凯特惊骇万分。

那吸血鬼咬破自己的手腕，让血流进台下狼人举着的成排杯子，然后把装满吸血鬼血液的杯子分发给在场的所有狼人。

周围的狼人喝下吸血鬼血，集体发出了狂热的嚎叫，一个接着一个开始变形。

凯特感觉周围的空气中跳动着疯狂的能量，她自己的眼睛也开始闪烁着金色的野性。她从没有像这一样感受过控制不住自己的变形欲望。

然后她被腰上的一双手大力拽出了酒吧。

那股力量来势汹汹不可阻挡，她被狠狠地拉出了酒吧，接着被带离了酒吧所在地。

直到她感受不到那股不可忽视的变形欲望了她们才停了下来，她闻到了熟悉的气味，下一件她知道的事情就是她被叶琳娜按在了粗糙的砖墙上（叶琳娜和她需要把凯特按在物体表面上的冲动是怎么一回事？？？）。

“我告诉你远离这些，凯特·毕肖普，”叶琳娜暴躁地说，“我看你又一次挡我道了。”

凯特的眼神狂野。

“我——你——”凯特挫败地大喊起来，“那是个狼人酒吧！！！你怎么会在那里！”

她激烈地反抗叶琳娜，这时她第一次感觉到了叶琳娜的信息素。她感觉，非常平静？她不由自主地跟随着叶琳娜的信息素平复呼吸，金色的眼睛慢慢恢复成了原来的蓝色。

“刚刚发生了什么鬼？？？”

“如果我不把你拽出来你可能就死在那儿了，”叶琳娜皱着眉头看着凯特的眼睛颜色恢复正常，同时把凯特轻轻地放下来，“那儿有一群V血上瘾的狂暴狼人。他们要发现你不属于那里的话会把你撕成碎片的。”

“我是鹰眼！我能保护自己——V是什么鬼？”

“鹰眼？”叶琳娜皱起的眉头放松下来，露出一个被逗乐的笑容。“你是狼人，不是鸟人。”

“那只是个称呼……”凯特抱怨道，“你还没有回答我的问题！那个吸血鬼，还有V到底是什么鬼东西？”

叶琳娜的脸色变得阴沉起来。“你不太了解超自然界的毒品文化，对吧，凯特·毕肖普？”

凯特摇了摇头。

“V指的是吸血鬼的血。生者——包括狼人喝了吸血鬼的血后会变得更加强壮，也更加暴躁，还会让你上瘾；吸血鬼的血就像是超自然界里的类固醇。那个吸血鬼，瓦伦蒂娜，在供养那些狼人。”

凯特做了个厌恶的鬼脸。“这也太恶心了。所以这些狼人为了血为她工作？”

“没错。”

“那么在操纵死灵的女巫会和嗑药的狼群之间，你有什么特别感兴趣的理由吗？”

那个神秘的吸血鬼只是盯着狼人看。几秒钟后，吸血鬼彻底放开了凯特，“不，凯特，远离这里。你会害死自己的。”

没有一个解释，她就转身离开了。

凯特目瞪口呆地看着叶琳娜的背影。她怎么可以三番五次打断凯特的任务却一句话也不解释？

“嘿！你欠我一个解释！”凯特追了上去，抓住吸血鬼的肩膀。

叶琳娜仿佛预料到了她的顽固，轻松甩开了凯特。凯特不依不饶，然后她知道的下一件事就是被叶琳娜抓住手腕摔倒在地上。

凯特嗖地站起来面对叶琳娜，然后给了她一巴掌。

吸血鬼更多是被巴掌惊讶到了而不是伤到了，她露出明显被冒犯的神情，“这是什么？”

凯特呆呆地看着叶琳娜。她只是想引起叶琳娜的注意！她也不知道接下来该怎么办！“我不知道。”她虚弱又慌张地回应。

叶琳娜翻了个白眼，跺着脚绕开狼人继续往前走。

“嘿，你给我回来——”凯特化身狼形追了上去，把吸血鬼扑倒在地。

叶琳娜恼火地把身上的巨狼一脚踹开，但凯特不断交手，某一个瞬间叶琳娜基本上是按着狼脸拖地，直到凯特打了个滚摆脱叶琳娜，然后把吸血鬼扑倒在地。

她变回人形，气喘吁吁地说，“我们这是在干什么呢，你看，这是个月圆之夜，我们一起喝杯酒，好吗？两个女孩儿就不能交流一下最新八卦吗？”

狼人身下的叶琳娜挑起一边眉毛。她被狼人满怀期待的表情给逗乐了。凯特看起来真的很乐意请叶琳娜喝酒，并且也真心实意地认为叶琳娜会答应。

“你是个狼人，我是个吸血鬼，所以，不，我们不是两个能边喝酒边聊天的女孩。”

凯特露出可怜巴巴失望的表情，叶琳娜几乎都要同情她了。

“凯特，”叶琳娜意有所指地看着她，“你现在非常赤裸，在我身上。”

“哦，对，”凯特站起身，看起来一点都不抱歉，然后伸手拉起吸血鬼。

叶琳娜站起来，仔细打量着仍然非常赤裸的、因为打斗而胸口起伏的狼人。

“你知道吗，”叶琳娜说，仍然公开盯着凯特看，“或许我会和你和你喝一杯，”

“真的吗？”凯特没有错过那些打量的眼神，但她的眼睛字面意义上为叶琳娜的同意而亮了起来。

“是啊，当然，等你发誓远离那些女巫集会和狼人酒吧。”

凯特的脸立马垮了下来。“得了吧！这不是我说的意思——”

但是吸血鬼已经消失得无影无踪。

凯特又一次瞪着稀薄的空气，试图理解叶琳娜的神秘行为。直到远处传来汽车喇叭的声音，她才记得寻找丢在地上的衣服。

在这天晚上入睡前，凯特想了很多。她已经遇见叶琳娜很多次了，对吧？但吸血鬼一般不会在一个地区久留（为了显而易见的原因）。但考虑到吸血鬼永恒的寿命，“不久”也可能意味着（对她来说的）很长一段时间。但这也不足以解释为什么叶琳娜三番五次插手凡人事务。吸血鬼通常来说都非常排外非常自恋，一个利他主义的吸血鬼，有点儿奇怪（虽然凯特认为那个狼人酒吧里发生的事情可能已经涉及了吸血鬼种族内的平衡，但说不定只是独立事件呢）。只是为什么每一次，每一次，叶琳娜都要打乱凯特的计划（尽管叶琳娜的说法是凯特挡了她的道，可是她只是一只热心的邻家友好狼人）？还有那些“约会”？城里这么多酒吧，叶琳娜偏偏每次都要在凯特工作的酒吧“约会”？还偏偏是每次凯特轮班的时候（酒吧老板说叶琳娜从来没有在凯特不上班的时候出现过）？那些含沙射影的调情？凯特实在无法理解这个神秘的吸血鬼，叶琳娜让她既挫败又着迷。

凯特翻了个身，对着枕头发出挫败的尖叫。为什么她不能和我说话？？？为什么她非得如此复杂？？？

【Bishova】The First Taste（2）

Kate thinks she’d never meet that vampire again.

She meets her at the bar where she works (It’s a long story, though probably not that long, Ronin incident happened, she met her hero and accidentally discovered that her mother was involved with organized crime. She asked Clint to install a hidden camera to find dirt on Jack, only to end up recording her mother’s conversation with Kingpin. Long story short, she had her mother arrested by the police, so now she’s kinda broke).

Do vampires go out on dates? Kate was shocked. But anyway, Kate crosses paths with that vampire again. She orders a beer for her date and a glass of wine for herself.

“I’m sure you need something stronger than that, right?” Kate asks, mockingly.

“Ah, Kate Bishop,” says the vampire pleasantly, glancing at the sign on her chest. “Hiiii-”

“Are you stalking me now?”

The Vampire has that huge, offended look on her face. “Kate Bishop, stop being so defensive. Relax, I’m not going to hurt you, even you interrupted my feeding session. And if I wanted to kill you-”

Right. Kate blushed. “-you would’ve already. I probably wouldn’t get a chance to come back here to work,”

“No. you’d have been dead right when I pinned you,” the vampire nodded.

“Then why are you here?” Kate asked.

“I’m starving,” the vampire trailed off, “you know, I need to feed after the last time I was interrupted. After threatening a big, bad werewolf.”

Kate’s face turns red.

Those sharp vampire eyes clearly notice it, but she kindly says nothing. She continues, “Since I’m ‘chronically murdering’ humans, I thought I’d compensate humans, you know, wine and dine, something like that.”

“Alright!” Kate says, feeling embarrassed. She hurried to get the vampire order ready, then pushes them to the vampire a little bit too hard. “Your drinks, Ms… ?”

“Yelena,” the vampire offers in a good mood.

Kate tries hard not to think about going out with a vampire and offering her neck to the vampire after dinner-

“Oh. And, Kate Bishop, ” the vampire says, “do not get in my way again.”

She says that in a very gentle way, but Kate can sense the subtle threat.

And then she just leaves.

After that, Kate keeps running into Yelena. In between her “dates” with humans, Clint hears a rumor, so Kate goes undercover to investigate a coven in hopes of finding a witch who is linked to Kingpin.

Local witches usually had their own places, where they gather around during full-moon nights, Kate often runs into them. But this coven is different; Kate has never met any of these witches, and Kate sure knows all the witches in the neighborhood. She even briefly dated one of those witches.

It’s a stealthy mission, so Kate can’t actually bring her bow and arrows with her. But she can always rely on her wolf. She blends in with a group of witches and entered a hidden coven.

A witch is on stage casting spells on a dead bird. Incomprehensible spells echo through the room, amplified by the crowd below.

Kate sees the most horrible thing in her life. And she found Kingpin once. She watches that dead bird come to life. In hindsight, it may not have been a resurrection, but deark magic puppying the dead body.

The bird rises stiffly, flaps its wings a few times, then flops back to Earth like a broken puppet, never moving again.

This coven is more like a cult than a normal witch coven. Kate looks around to check if anyone was as disturbed as she is, and notices a hooded blonde creeping away from the crowd.

Kate follows them just like an impulsive werewolf.

She follows the hooded person, making sure no one is following or seeing her, then rushes forward and pounces on them, pulling their hood down.

“Yelena,” Kate hesitates, recognizing the face under the hood. Vampires have always had a strained relationship with witches, as some of witches’ spells could produce sunlight-like effects.“What’s a vampire doing in a witch coven?”

The vampire takes advantage of the werewolf’s momentary hesitation to flip their positions. “Kate Bishop, I see you’re in my way again,” Yelena says with a look of annoyance on her face, baring her fangs.

Kate is pinned to the ground by the vampire. She can’t really move, so she says, “Do you say my whole name to show that you know it?”

The vampire stares down at her.

“Yes,” said the vampire after a heartbeat, “I know a lot about you. Mother, Eleanor, recently in prison. Father, Derek, deceased. Very sad. And you’re a werewolf, but like an overzealous golden retriever puppy, which I’ll admit it’s very annoying, but you got a few points from me on that. University GPA 3.8, senior, double major, and…”

“Right, okay, we get it,” Kate interrupts in a panic, “thank you. So what are you doing here? Vampires never mess with witches.”

“Oh, of course, I came here to seduce a witch and feed on her,” the vampire laughs, but there is no joy in her eyes. “They’re using dark magic to control the dead, what do you think it is?”

“That means… they also can control vampires,” Kate realizes.

“Stay away from them, Kate Bishop. Right now, they can only make a tiny dead bird fly a minute, but it will get worse. And supernatural creatures are the most vulnerable ones. Even for you mortals,” Yelena warns her.

Then Yelena disappears in the wind again, just like she always does.

Kate stands up and looks blankly in the direction where Yelena has disappeared. “We can work together, you know!” She shouts in vain.

【Bishova】初尝滋味（2）

凯特没想到她会再次遇到那个吸血鬼。

她是在她打工的酒吧遇到她的（这是个很长的故事，虽然可能也没那么长，浪人事件发生了，她见到了她的英雄，然后意外发现她母亲卷入黑帮，她求克林特安装了一个隐藏摄像头，本来是为了找出杰克的黑料，没想到最后却录下了她妈妈和金并的对话，长话短说，她让警察逮捕了她妈妈，所以她也有点破产了）。

吸血鬼也会出来约会吗，凯特很震惊。但总之，凯特又一次遇到了那个吸血鬼，她给她的约会对象点了一瓶啤酒，还给自己点了一杯红酒。

“我想你肯定需要一些更烈的东西吧？”凯特嘲讽道。

“啊，凯特·毕肖普，”那个吸血鬼扫了一眼她胸前的牌子，愉快地说，“嗨——”

“你现在跟踪我了吗？”

那个吸血鬼露出一个巨大的被冒犯的表情，“凯特·毕肖普，别那么有敌意。放松，我没打算杀你，而且如果我真的想要你死，你早就死了。”

对。凯特脸色发红，“对，我大概没有机会回来工作，”

“没错，就在我掐住你脖子的时候你就已经死了，”吸血鬼点点头。

“那你为什么要来这里？”凯特问。

“我饿死了，”那个吸血鬼拖长了声音说，“你知道的，在上一次进食被打断后在把一个又大又坏的狼人按在墙上威胁之后，我需要进食。”

凯特的脸涨得通红。

锐利的吸血鬼的眼睛显然注意到了，但她好心地什么也没说，继续补充道，“既然我是在‘慢性谋杀’人类，所以我想我应该请人类约会作为补偿，你知道的，晚餐和酒什么的，”

“好吧！”凯特觉得有些尴尬，她匆忙把吸血鬼点的东西准备好，然后过于用力地推给她，“你的酒，这位女士……？”

“叶琳娜，”吸血鬼好心情地提供。

凯特努力不去想和吸血鬼出去约会，晚餐后把脖颈献给吸血鬼的样子——

“对了，凯特·毕肖普，”吸血鬼在离开前补充道，“别再挡我道了。”

吸血鬼的声音很柔和，但凯特能感觉到平静之下暗藏着的低调威胁。

然后她就这样离开了。

之后凯特不断碰见叶琳娜。在叶琳娜和人类的“约会”之间，克林特听到了一个传闻，于是凯特去调查一个女巫集会，希望能找到和金并有关系的黑巫师。

当地女巫们通常有她们自己的集会，她们在月圆的时候聚集在一起，凯特时常碰到她们。但这个女巫集会不一样；凯特从来没见过这些女巫，而凯特确信她认识附近所有的女巫们，她甚至短暂约会过其中一个年轻女巫。

这是个需要低调的任务，所以凯特不能带上她的弓箭。不过她总是可以依靠她的变形能力。她混在一群陌生女巫中，进了一个隐蔽的女巫集会场所。

一个女巫在台上对着死鸟念咒，无法理解的咒语回荡在房间里，声音被下面附和的群众增强了。

然后凯特见到了人生中最恐怖的事情，她眼睁睁地看着小鸟尸体活了过来。事后来看，可能不是死而复生，而是那个女巫在操纵小鸟尸体。

那鸟僵硬地站了起来拍打翅膀飞了几圈，然后像断线的木偶一样啪地摔回了地球，再也不动了。

这个女巫集会不像是平常的女巫集会，更像是什么邪教崇拜。凯特四下张望，寻找是否有人向她一样为此感到不安，结果她注意到了一个隐藏在兜帽之下的金发女子蹑手蹑脚地脱离了人群。

凯特就像一个冲动的狼人一样跟了上去。

她跟着戴兜帽的人离开，确保没有人跟踪或看到后她冲上前扑倒了对方，拉下对方的兜帽。

“叶琳娜，”凯特认出了兜帽下的脸，犹豫了一下。吸血鬼向来和女巫关系紧张，因为女巫们的一些咒语可以产生类似阳光的效果。“一个吸血鬼来女巫集会干什么？”

吸血鬼利用狼人一时的犹豫轻松翻转了两人的位置。叶琳娜脸上带着懊恼，尖牙伸展，她暴躁地说，“凯特·毕肖普，我看你又挡我道了，”

凯特被吸血鬼按在地上，动弹不得。于是她说，“你一直说我的全名只是为了表示你知道吗？”

吸血鬼居高临下地凝视着她。

凯特站起身，茫然地看着叶琳娜消失的方向。“我们可以合作，你知道吗！”她白费力气地朝吸血鬼离开的方向喊道。

【Bishova】The First Taste（1）

Summary:

Kate interrupts a vampire’s feeding. To her surprise, the vampire doesn’t kill the human or her. After that, she’s been crossing paths with this particular vampire ever since.

I was writing and writing, then I realized if I don’t post it, it will never be posted, so I post it now although I haven’t finished it yet lol.

Kate patrols the streets in her wolf form because she’s Hawkeye. She’s the new Hawkeye since Clint retired, and Hawkeye is supposed to protect people. Her werewolf hearing picks up some disturbing sounds, they sound like a human in distress. So she follows them to a dark alley, where it is clear that a vampire is feeding on a woman.

Vampires – she’d heard how cruel and bloodthirsty they are, so she shifts into her human form and shouts, “Let her go!”

Kate hopes she sounded as tough as she wanted to be.

The vampire doesn’t even acknowledge her. Oh no, she just keeps feeding. A few heartbeats later, she finally lets go of the human, allowing Kate to see the visible wounds on the human’s wrist and those bloody fangs.

Then, the vampire licks her fangs clean in front of the werewolf, then checks the currently naked and unflinching werewolf out bluntly.

Kate, a werewolf, used to being naked, does not care about the vampire’s stare. She has no shame in nudity.

But to Kate’s surprise, there are zero hints of scare on the human’s face, more curiosity. She checks the wounds on her wrist real quick and then looks back and forth with interest at the vampire and werewolf in front of her.

The vampire suddenly moves, and Kate thinks that is it. She’s done. But the vampire just reaches for a hundred-dollar bill and says politely, “I’m sorry if that bad werewolf scared you. Extra for your trouble.”

Kate is offended enough to make a noise, but the vampire ignores her anyway.

The human takes the money, looks at them again with curiosity, and then leaves quickly.

The vampire watches the human leave until she could no longer hear her and turns to the overzealous werewolf.

“I pay humans for blood, and I don’t feed on unwilling humans. I won’t kill them either. That human isn’t a damsel in distress who needs you to rescue her. What’s your problem, wolf?”

The vampire has a smoking hot Russian accent.

Kate blinked in confusion. Neither her accent nor her answer is what she had expected. “That’s… That’s chronic murder! You Can’t buy someone’s blood with money! I’m sure it broke like a hundred laws-” she mumbled incoherently.

The vampire is clearly annoyed, she rolls her eyes with a huff.

In an instant, Kate is pinned to the wall, which is crazy, considering that this blond vampire is incredibly small. She’s like, a foot shorter than Kate, and Kate is a very buffed werewolf – but she couldn’t move with a tiny hand around her neck like she’s nothing. The only thing she could do is looking down into the smaller vampire’s eyes. The vampire has green hazel eyes, sharp as an eagle. Being this close, Kate can smell the vampire-in fact, she smells more like a human than a bloodthirsty vampire, with a nice mint scent.

“Haven’t you heard that regular blood donation is actually good for your health, PUP?” The vampire hisses, baring her fangs. Sensing Kate’s attempt to resist by grabbing her arm, the vampire tightens her grip. “Nah ah. Don’t move. I’m stronger and faster than you. You can’t win. You’d better find yourself another puppy to bully.”

Kate looks into the vampire’s angry eyes and thinks (for the second time), this is it. This is the end of her life.

But then the pressure goes away, and the vampire disappears in thin air, leaving a very confused werewolf alone. Kate’s never met a vampire who doesn’t finish the kill. Vampires have a reputation among werewolves for being brutal and bloodthirsty, which is not NOT accurate given Kate’s few experiences with vampires.

Maybe it was just because she was full. Kate doesn’t move, thinking. She shrugs, shifts into wolf form and leaves.

It isn’t until she brushes her teeth before going to bed that Kate notices the vampire hadn’t left a single mark on her neck. She bruises easily, however, the vampire clearly managed to leave no trace.

She had no intention of hurting her.

Maybe she was in a good mood, Kate decides. Or maybe werewolf blood isn’t as alluring as human blood. She knows most vampires don’t like werewolves.

凯特打断了一个吸血鬼的进食过程。令她惊讶的是，那个吸血鬼既没有杀死人类，也没有杀死她。从那之后她就不断遇到这个吸血鬼。

凯特化身狼形在街上巡逻，因为她是新的鹰眼——自从克林特退休后她就是新的鹰眼了，而鹰眼应该保护人类。她敏锐的狼人听力听到了一些令人不安的声音，于是她顺着声音找到了一个偏僻的黑暗小巷，发现显然是一个吸血鬼——在吸食一个女人的血。

吸血鬼——她听说过吸血鬼们是有多残忍凶狠，于是她变回人形大喊，“放开她！”

凯特希望自己听起来就像她想要的那样强硬。

那个吸血鬼甚至没有理睬她。哦不，她只是继续吸血。几下心跳后，她才终于放开了那个人类，让凯特看到人类手腕上清晰可见的伤口和带血的尖牙。

吸血鬼当着狼人的面舔干净了尖牙，同时毫不掩饰地打量着毫不退缩的、赤裸的狼人。

凯特，一个狼人，习惯了赤身裸体，丝毫不在乎吸血鬼的打量。她没有对赤身裸体的羞耻感。

但令凯特意外的是，那个人类女性脸上没有一丝惊恐，更多的是好奇。她只是简单查看了一下手腕上的伤口，然后感兴趣地来回看着眼前的吸血鬼和狼人。

吸血鬼突然动了起来，凯特认为这就是自己完蛋的时候了。不过吸血鬼只是伸手掏出一张百元钞票，礼貌地对人类说，“我很抱歉那个坏狼人吓到你了。”

凯特发出一声被冒犯到的声音，但吸血鬼并没有理会她。

人类女性收下钱，再一次好奇地看了看她们，然后就快速地离开了。

吸血鬼看着人类离开，直到她再也听不见她，才转身面对一个过于热心的狼人。

“我付钱给人类，我也不吸非自愿的人类的鲜血，更不会杀了她们，那个女人不是需要你拯救的落难少女。你有什么问题，狼人？”

只一瞬间，凯特就被钉在了墙上，这也太疯狂了，考虑到这个金发吸血鬼比凯特矮了大概一头，而凯特是一个强壮的狼人，肌肉发达——但她被脖颈上的小手按在墙上动弹不得，只能向下看着那个小个子吸血鬼的眼睛。她的眼睛是浅褐色的，目光锐利。离得这么近，凯特能闻到这个吸血鬼气味——实际上，她闻起来更像人类，而不是嗜血的吸血鬼，带着好闻的麝香味。

或许只是因为她吃饱了，凯特站在原地思考着。她耸耸肩，变回狼形，离开了小巷。

直到晚上睡觉前刷牙的时候，凯特才注意到了自己脖颈上没有留下一点痕迹。她很容易淤伤，但那个吸血鬼显然没有伤害她的意图。

可能她的心情很好，凯特决定。或者狼人血不如人类鲜血一样诱人，她知道大多数吸血鬼都不喜欢狼人。

女性配对同人和70年代

“一个成年人的童话故事，通过这个故事，作者表达了自己对爱情关系的信仰和理想。其中一个理念就是女同性恋者和异性恋者一样平凡。无论是否浪漫，这几乎是所有另类同人（Altfic）不言而喻的前提，这是与传统异性恋浪漫作品的重要区别。”[6]

一个活跃的另类同人社区很快围绕着这个节目发展起来，并得到了大量女同性恋观众的帮助，她们对这个几乎只关注两个女人之间关系的节目产生了兴趣。到了1997年，这个社区已经开始在网站上存档她们的作品，其中一些只包含女性配对同人作品。

动漫，漫画和百合

女性配对同人社群正在发展的这个时期，她们通常与动漫和漫画粉丝圈分开。动漫粉丝在自己独立的空间里，用着自己的术语和粉丝创作。1995年，女性配对同人的定义已经足够明确，在那种文化中，百合（Yuri）是女性配对（femslash）等价词的首选术语。百合可以专注于两人关系中的性或情感方面，后者有时被西方粉丝称为少女爱（shoujo ai）。百合和少女爱这两个术语在使用英语的动漫画（animanga）粉丝圈的历史中早期开始使用了。这些术语与这些粉丝中的百合与少女爱的用法一致。

2009年，女性配对同人迅速兴起，《欢乐合唱团》（Glee）在播出，人们承诺会有很多酷儿代表——只不过主要是男性，男同性恋。布莱妮和桑塔纳的关系后来主导了《欢乐合唱团》粉丝圈的大部分话题，是由一句关于两个客串临时演员的台词和一群女性渴望在电视上看到自己而产生的。

是粉丝们自愿把一个配对变成正式的。

粉丝圈的理由是什么呢？酷儿女性应该得到代表（representation）。

要求代表的呼声并不新鲜，但在当时，《欢乐合唱团》的粉丝们前所未有地接触到了她们节目的创作者。她们不需要发起信件请愿活动，也不需要把辣椒酱寄到片场（喻指增加火辣的内容）。她们可以通过推特直接推文轰炸瑞安·墨菲（Ryan Murphy）和布莱德·法查克（Brad Falchuk），并且可以不断地轰炸他们。

这不是一场运动，更像是一群恼人的、善意的群众通过以太网喊话。而她们成功了。墨菲和法查克看到了推特的趋势和汤不热标签，默许了。“Brittana”从一个“乱搞的”（crack）配对变成了该剧的主要叙事驱动力。

一个关键的原因是，除了年轻粉丝们有能力在推特上狂轰滥炸《欢乐合唱团》的演员和工作人员之外，除了她们想看到一些生殖器摩擦外，还有一个非常崇高的目标。有史以来第一次，大多数恳求一对配对成为正式关系的粉丝都是希望得到代表的社群的实际成员。她们呼吁增加LBGTQ的角色代表，这不仅仅是粉丝们希望看到虚构的人在一起，还是真诚的社会行动主义。

这开创了一个先例，很快就成为社群本身的棘手问题。现在任何一对酷儿女孩配对在节目中都是合适的组合，因为需要代表。男男配对同人粉丝的粉丝们也对这个想法产生了兴趣——突然之间，夏洛克不得不为了华生而成为同性恋，迪恩不得不爱上卡斯迪奥，因为男同性恋也需要上电视（你知道，这是一个完全正当的考虑）。如果制片人不能满足她们的要求呢？然后他们的节目就变成了个恐同的怪物，最好的结果就是被砍。

女性配对同人粉丝仍然站在这些推动同性浪漫配对的活动前沿。但这种行动主义与浪漫的结合即将引人注目地破裂。多亏了一个关于童话故事成真的节目（指疯狂卖腐的《童话镇》）。[4]

在2010年代的十年里，越来越多的女同性恋和双性恋角色出现在各种媒体上，经常在一段与其他女性的正式关系中，比如凯丽/亚利桑那（Callie/Arizona，《实习医生格蕾》，）、 Korrasami（Korra/Asami，《降世神通：科拉传奇》）、露比/萨菲尔（Ruby/Sapphire，《宇宙小子》）、猎空/艾米丽（Tracer/Emily，《守望先锋》）和Bubbline（Princess Bubblegum/Marceline，《探险活宝》）。
